Katherine Heigl has revealed that she was brought up in a white bubble and how this experience impacted the way she raised her adopted, multiracial children. She was in the movie "Firefly Lane", revealed to a reporter that it didn't matter the color of her skin for her. After meeting her adopted Korean American older sister, she noticed the differences in the way people took care of her. "I inquired of Meg how she was that she was treated differently when going out with us parents than when she went out alone. She replied, "Oh yeah, always!" That made me realize that I was so ignorant," Heigl said to Parents. She said that she was upset and believed it was important to focus the anger she felt on the adopted children she has. The couple, who are married to Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr., 4, have been married for 13 years. In 2009, they welcomed Nancy Leigh (12), an adopted daughter of South Korea, and Adalaide (8 an African-American child) in 2012.
